It was founded in 1929 when Mr. Maximo Mc Ellis built a farm in the valley, schools for the workers' children and began their livestock activities, bringing the first batch of Charolais cattle directly from France to America; At 1200 meters above sea level, between the Sierra del Orégano and the Sierra de Santa Rosa, in the municipality of San Buenaventura Coahuila, Rancho El Fortín (REF) and its M iron are born.
