The company was founded in 1964 and the first specialized Vernaccia di San Gimignano vineyards were planted in 1968. Shortly afterwards in 1976, 10 years after the newly created DOC "Vernaaccia di San Gimignano" (1966), the new modern cellar was built in San Gimignano inside the ancient farmhouse, where new temperature-controlled steel systems for fermentation were located and cold vinification of musts and wines, together with a modern bottling plant: thus the farm becomes the first in San Gimignano and among the first in Tuscany to employ cold control of musts and tartaric stabilization of white wines already in the mid 70s.
