Clare Tooley MW is a California-based Master of Wine and wine industry leader at Boisset Collection, with extensive experience in international wine buying, sourcing, wine development, and direct-to-consumer sales. She earned her Master of Wine qualification in 2021, bringing together a career spanning the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.

After graduating from Clare College, Cambridge, with a degree in French and Spanish, Clare began her wine career at John Armit Wines in London. She joined Direct Wines as a buyer in 2000 and later spent eight years near Bordeaux managing the group’s winery. In 2014, she moved to California as Director of Wine Development at Lionstone International, sourcing wines for national wine clubs including The Wall Street Journal, Laithwaites, Virgin, TCM, NPR, and National Geographic.

Clare joined Boisset Collection in 2022, bringing her international buying experience to its U.S. winery and retail operations. As a USA Wine Ratings judge, she contributes expertise in sensory evaluation, wine styling, branding, and consumer engagement, providing a commercial perspective on quality, value, and packaging.
