Roxanne Langer is a sommelier, wine writer, educator, international wine judge, and co-founder of LadySomm Carmel Wine School & Wine Salon, a boutique craft wine shop, wine salon, and luxury wine education destination in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Through LadySomm, Langer has created a unique space where wine retail, education, tasting experiences, and hospitality intersect—offering thoughtfully curated wines alongside immersive wine experiences for both collectors and curious consumers.
Known for its highly curated approach, LadySomm specializes in small-production wines, grower Champagnes, artisan spirits, and educational tasting experiences designed to make fine wine more approachable and memorable. From private tastings and wine discovery sessions to executive education programs and sensory workshops, LadySomm serves hospitality professionals, collectors, corporations, associations, and C-suite executives across the United States and Europe.
Langer’s career spans luxury hospitality, executive winery leadership, wine education, and international wine judging. She has held executive management positions with Napa Valley wineries, international winery associations, and a cult winery in Bel Air, Los Angeles. Her travels through more than 40 countries—particularly the world’s leading wine regions—have shaped her expertise in wine, Champagne, Cognac, and whisky.
A sought-after speaker and educator, Langer has presented at wine festivals, universities, luxury events, corporate programs, and cruise ships, bringing an approachable yet sophisticated perspective to wine appreciation and hospitality.
She is also the co-author of Churchill, A Drinking Life: Champagne, Cognac and Cocktails and has written for leading wine and lifestyle publications including The SOMM Journal, The Tasting Panel, Wine Geographic, Carmel Pine Cone, and numerous luxury lifestyle and wine-focused media outlets.
A two-time graduate of University of the Pacific with both a B.A. and M.A., Langer wrote her master’s thesis on wine and continued advanced studies through the University of California, Davis, WSET studies in the UK, and U.S. sommelier certification programs, where she also serves as an adjunct sommelier certification professor.
Deeply engaged in the global food and wine community, Langer serves on the board of Les Dames d'Escoffier International and is an active member of Women of the Vine & Spirits, Women for WineSense, the CMO Club, the American Institute of Food and Wine, and Women in Wine Monterey.
