Tim Marson MW is a Master of Wine and Director of Category Management at Wine.com, where his responsibilities include the French and Italian wine categories. With a wine industry career beginning in 1997, he brings extensive experience in retail buying, sourcing and category management across the United Kingdom and United States.

A Classics graduate of Oxford University and former member of its blind wine tasting team, Tim began his career at Oddbins before working with independent wine merchants in London. He subsequently moved into trade sales and became a buyer at Bibendum Wine Ltd. He earned the Master of Wine qualification in 2009, relocated to California in 2011 and joined Wine.com in 2016.

As a USA Wine Ratings judge, Tim combines rigorous tasting expertise with the commercial perspective of an experienced online retail buyer. His background in sourcing wines and responding to consumer demand informs his assessment of quality, value and packaging, supporting the competition’s focus on wines suited to the U.S. retail market.
