Born and raised “under the Tuscan sun”, Marco lived in Florence for five years before moving to San Francisco. During a family trip to Trieste, he fell in love with a bottle of Amarone della Valpolicella and decided then and there to become a Sommelier. Marco achieved the Third Level of an Italian Sommelier program while kickstarting his career in wine at Konnubio, an Italian fusion restaurant, working alongside his mentor the current Best Sommelier of Italy.
After arriving in California, he experienced the wine industry from 360 degrees: from the rows in the vineyards to the final product in the glass. Alongside expertise in the fields, he never stopped studying and currently, he is finishing the WSET Diploma program.
Today Marco is working as Wine Director/Beverage Manager at Luce restaurant - Intercontinental hotel group in San Francisco.
