The wine production of Chubut continues to reap awards, raising the quality of the wine enterprises of the Andean region as products of origin recognized worldwide. On this occasion, the Ayestarán Allard Winery in El Hoyo was awarded silver medals for its Oriundo merlot product and the Oriundo White Collection trivarietal white wine in the 3rd edition of USA Wine Ratings, held in San Francisco, California.

These are wines born and raised in the El Hoyo valley, from the vineyards located on the slopes of the Currumahuida hill. The cold zone merlot stands out for its aromas of red fruits, with a vibrant spicy background with a good structure and its natural acidity that makes possible the most varied pairings.

Oscar Ayestarán pointed out that the awards are “a source of pride, it has positioned us in a privileged place as a product and as a region. In January we will be inaugurating our winery and showroom for visitors, with an interpretive trail, with wine tasting ”.

The vineyards are more than 15 years old, which is why Ayestarán highlights the pioneering nature of El Hoyo in the activity: “Today it is not only El Hoyo, there are undertakings in Sarmiento, Los Altares, Gaiman, Trevelin, there is an interesting diversity and you can do very important things. In Argentina this industry generates employment for more than 300 thousand people, it is an industry of industries, around viticulture appears glass, accessories, metalworking, among others ”.

"We continue working to empower the wine sector, this type of awards that our producers obtain at an international level encourage us to continue setting the tone that we are on the right path," said the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Industry, and Commerce, Leandro Cavaco.
