Our Story
We are farmers and winemakers with an annual production of 1,300,000 gallons of wine per year. We grow 28 varieties of own-vined, high elevation vinifera grapes on 750 acres of prime vineyards in the esteemed Wahluke Slope AVA in the southeast corner of Washington State.
Our vineyards are all farmed organically, with several lots certified WSDA Organic. Other certifications include Global GAP, USDA Organic and Glyphosate Free from our farm to our cellar.
Sustainability
Here at Tagaris, we truly believe that our primary focus should be sustainability. From dirt to bottle, we practice to protect our soil, air and water (elements that breathe life, and ultimately flavor, into our grapes and wines). Being good stewards of the land and good neighbors are principles we live by each and every day. Adopting environmentally and socially responsible practices and making them an integral part of how we do business is our way of ensuring the health of our land, our communities, employees and our industry for generations to come.

Who We Are
Michael Taggares, our owner, founded Tagaris Winery in 1987. The winery honors the proper Greek spelling of his family name descending from the Greek royal family that began growing grapes in the 15th century.
Frank Roth, Tagaris’ winemaker, has been winemaking since he was 16 years old, giving him over 20 years of winemaking under his belt. Frank’s goal is to become the premiere authority on making wine using as little oak and manipulation as possible so the vibrant fruit flavors of the wine are dominate.
