USA Wine Ratings (UWR), to be held on 23-24 July 2018, invites your wineries to participate in the event. Unlike all other wine competitions, USA Wine Ratings is going to judge every wine not only on the basis of how it tastes but on the three factors, Quality, Value & Packaging. Quality in terms of its drinkability, Value in terms of how much value for money they are offering and Packaging in terms of its outer design.

To assess all the wonderful wines, USA Wine Rating has invited well-known judges who will blind taste all the wines to assess their quality. The Judges of USA Wine Ratings 2018 are top-level wine buyers with direct commercial wine buying responsibilities or wine experts who are involved in the development of new wine brands or buying wine on a commercial level. The list is drawn from leading retail chains, distributors, wholesalers and on-trade groups across a variety of channels.

Below is a list of Judges of USA Wine Ratings 2018.

Bruce Abbott

Bruce Abbott, from Fairbanks, Alaska, is a Wine and Spirits buyer at Liquor Stores, NA Ltd which is North America’s largest publically traded retailer of beverages. Bruce has eight years of wine, beer and spirits sales experience. He is a certified specialist of wine and spirits. He also owns a blog Paradigm Wine where he talks about wine, wine services and the wine industry.

 

Branden Bidwell

Branden Bidwell is a General Manager and Wine Director at Hyatt Regency in California which is a welcome place for convention goers, business travellers and leisure seekers. He started his career in 2003 as a Server / Guest service at Bacara Resort & Spa. From serving to cooking and then Sommelier to General Manager, his journey has given him a versatile experience. 

 

JoAnn DeGaglia

JoAnn DeGaglia is a Sommelier at Glenmere Mansion which is a luxury hotel with 18 guest accommodations, 2 restaurants and recreational facilities. She is a Certified Sommelier, a Certified Wine Judge and Certified Specialist of Italian Wine.

 

 

Daniel Cameron

Daniel Cameron is a Lead Sommelier at The Battery San Francisco which is a private member club designed to engage and simulate forward-thinking brains in the arts, technology and other industries. He started his wine career as a manager in a wine shop in 2006 and gained tremendous experience in wine industry working in various profiles.

 

Mauro Cirilli

Mauro Cirilli is a Wine and Beverage Director at Sidecar Hospitality for 6 years. He started his wine journey in 2002 as a Lead Sommelier at Aqua restaurant and since then worked in various wine-related profiles such as Sommelier Teacher, Wine Director, etc. His qualifications regarding wine education are quite impressive. Sharyn Kervyn

Sharyn Kervyn is a Wine Director at The Capital Grille Since Sep 2007. She has achieved Certified Specialist of Wine title through the Society of Wine Educators. She is a member of the Guild of Sommeliers and Dionysian Wine Society. She has a volunteer experience as Regional Vice President and National Tasting Project Chair at The American Wine Society.

 

Jeffrey Cody

Jeffrey Cody is a Wine Team Leader and Wine Buyer at Whole Foods Market. He started working at Whole Foods Market in 2009 and shuffled in various profiles in the same organization.

 

 

Charles Curtis

Charles Curtis is a Master of Wine and Founder of WineAlpha which is a fine wine consulting firm in Hong Kong and New York. He has expertise and experience in the distribution of wine in the USA. He has also written some articles on wine which you can check out here.

 

Greg Forshay

Greg Forshay is currently a Wine and Beer Manager at HEB Central Market in Texas. He started his career from Wally’s Wine & Spirits in 1999, as Executive Assistant/Sales. He is also a Level III Certified Specialist in Wine from Society of Wine Educators.

 

Tim Hanni

Tim Hanni is a Master of Wine, currently Wine Business & Product Development Consultant to the Wine Industry, wine education, retail wine, grocery and spirits management. He is also the Author of The Sweet Wine Lovers’ Manifesto (2016) and Why You Like The Wines You Like (available on Amazon.com)
