10. Happy Hour Chardonnay

Happy Hour is a crisp and refreshing Chardonnay has notes of freshly sliced apples, Meyer lemon, Wildflower honey and a hint of vanilla.  The perfect balance of stainless steel with minimal time on oak for a crisp and fruit forward wine with a mouth-watering finish. Relax and enjoy the blissful taste of Happy Hour Chardonnay. Happy Hour chardonnay is perfect to pair with roast chicken, creamy pasta or a great cheese plate.

9. Tomillar Chardonnay

The Tomillar is a chardonnay with straw-coloured yellow with greenish reflections and glycerine consistency. It has a very great aromatic complexity. In its Varietal aromas, ripe fruits stand out intensely such as peach, pineapple, exotic tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit, with notes of honey.  It has a very unctuous and meaty taste on the palate.

8. Stringer Cellars John Sebastino Vineyard (JSV) Chardonnay

The 2016 Stringer Cellars John Sebastiano Vineyard (JSV) benefits from strong Pacific Ocean winds and a marine fog layer that makes the Sta. Rita Hills region so unique.  This Chardonnay comes from a steep hillside block of JSV that is shrouded in fog every morning until it is burned away by the midday sun. This combination of fog and sun is what allows the fruit to retain a strong acid backbone while ripening.  Flavours of citrus and lemon curd mix with hints of toasty oak to create a Chardonnay that is both rich in mouth feel and light on its feet. It is aged in 100% French oak, 25% of which was new.  The wine remained in barrel for 12 months and tank aged for an additional 4 months.

7. Grevino Chardonnay

The Grevino Chardonnay shows scents of butterscotch, honeydew, melon and apple on the nose. It also has flavours of honeysuckle; granny smith apple and lemon are wrapped in a light oaky-vanilla blanket leaving a smooth yet crisp finish.

6. Grand Cru Vineyards Chardonnay

Grand Cru Vineyards Chardonnay wine is a light straw colour with pear, melon, and vanilla aromas; citrus and green apple flavours, with a silky mouth feel. This Chardonnay is well-balanced and structured, with a lingering aftertaste. This wine can be sipped by itself or paired with a number of foods. For appetizers, it pairs well with Brie and Munster cheeses. For the main course, one can try crab, turkey or baked chicken.

5. The Abarbanel Batch 30 Chardonnay

The Abarbanel Batch 30 Chardonnay can be a wonderful wine to pair with fish, poultry or on its own. A wonderful compliment to chicken Marsala, coq au vin or arroz con pollo. Delightful with roast turkey breast. On the sushi side, try with hamachi jalapeno or tuna tataki.

The grapes used in The Abarbanel Batch 30 Chardonnay were sourced exclusively from the Les Chemins de Favarelle single vineyard in the Aude River Valley in Southwest France. The 2016 vintage benefited from perfectly ripe fruit from that warm sunny summer.

4. El Capitan Chardonnay

The Pale yellow with green hues combination of El capitan chardonnay gives it a unique attractive point. The nose is subtle and delicate, with hints of citrus mainly grapefruit, also notes of white fruit. On the palate, very fresh fruit fills the mouth. This Tasty wine is delicate with good persistence. It also balances acidity.

3. It’s wine time chardonnay

It`s Wine Time Chardonnay is a ripe, round Chardonnay full of apple and melon fruit flavours, followed by hints of vanilla and a soft finish. It is made from selected Chardonnay grapes grown in Australia. They suggest serving the wine chilled with roast chicken, light pasta dishes, seafood or simply on its own.

2. Z. Alexander Brown Chardonnay

Z. Alexander Brown Chardonnay is a honey-coloured which exudes bright aromas of White peach, floral orange blossom with hints of honey and baking spice. A rich, velvety mouth feel is supported by core flavours of juicy stone fruit, vanilla and toasted oak. These complex, layered flavours extend into the finish. This Chardonnay is well-balanced and full bodied with a bright acidity, making it a perfect pairing with a wide range of fare.

1. Black Stallion Estate Winery Chardonnay

Black Stallion Estate Winery Chardonnay opens with aromas of yellow pear, lemon curd, jasmine and hint of oak. The flavours are tantalizing notes of citrus, chamomile, orange blossom and brown butter. The Chardonnay from the cooler vineyards provides the bright acidity, citrus notes, and lean backbone of the wine, where the Chardonnay from the warmer growing regions of the Napa Valley contributes a riper, fuller-bodied character. The wine has a rich mid-palate weight creating a multi-layered, complex wine and a lingering finish.

About the USA Wine Ratings Competition

USA Wine Ratings Logo

The USA Wine Ratings competition was introduced by Beverage Trade Network which organizes wine events worldwide. The competition aims to recognize, reward and promote wine brands that are created to identify with and target a specific wine drinker. The competition works on three major criteria; quality, packaging and value for money. For any brand to earn its space on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s wine list, they must be marketable and consumer driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it. This approach of USA Wine Ratings makes the competition different from other wine competitions.
